(MENAFN- Arab Times) Midway into the elimination round another rated A- bowling team seized the lead from the All Star Strikers affecting the standings of both inner and outer circles of the elite group at the Philippine Bowling Association in Kuwait (PBAK) 2nd Season Team Tournament 2015 held at Cozmo Center in Kaifan.
Travel Club heaved to the pinnacle when they shot down the Swooping Eagles 2927-2724 while Original Pin Killers joined the 'Magic 8' after demolishing the Cozmo team. Other teams who posted victories were Bowlersmate, Asian Air Safari, Nusantara, Mangaf Strikers and Thunder Dragons.
The encounter of the opposing teams was in disarray when the Travel Club zeroed the Swooping Eagles using its maximum force in their 3-game series 951-944/949-897/927-883. With the win the Travel Club surged to the summit thus rendering the Eagles dream of joining the elite group bleak. The triumvirate of the new top rank were Kiko Andaya 186/229/220 (635), Dan Montano 158/211/231 (600) and Tony Zulueta 210/209/168 (587) supported by Ferdie Saliba and Bima Nitikusumo who composed the 5-man team of the victorious team while the losers have Alonzo Bush (510), John Caldwell (497), Riz Roque (497), Danny Solis (485) and Jessica Balagat ( 452).
Despite high games of Fahad Abul, the obsessed Cozmo continued to fall when they were hit by the Original Pin Killers 3070-2711. The Original Pin Killers intuitively joined the top 8 teams by ejecting the LEAF team. The gushing Pin Killers gave no room for Cozmo to energize themselves resulting in winless situation in their 3-game encounter. Headed by prolific scorer Greg 'Kingpin' Melancon delivered another remarkable scores 228/257/246 (731)- the highest individual 3-game scores so far in the on-going league. Greg was assisted by Ishaaq Al Waahid (587), Christopher Bush (576), Alma Turley (459), Ahmad Fadil Karam and Jelyn Colegio while the losers have Fahad Abul (623), Farid Gabriel (593), Nasser Hajras (519), Jeannette Angeles and Rawan Suhail Skeik.
The position of Asian Air Safari oscillated to a safer place after they subdued the UAE Exchange 3017-2753. In the first game UAE outsmarted the Asian Air 996-941 but the airline retaliated and outscored the Exchanger 956-921 but still short of 20 points after the tabulation. In the final game the Asian Air bowlers played their best by swiping above average and scored a thousand points to get an additional 25 bonus points. Asian Air's triumph was engineered by Gani dela Cruz (583) and Norlan Balasan (554) assisted by its cabin crews Lito Michael, Sonia Mathews, Alex Cervantes and Zairus Javellana while UAE Exchange bowlers were Mike Gonzales (546) Rani Skeik (543), Myra Manalo, Mariotte Vito and Rudy de Lima. With the win-lose results the winner jumped to fourth spot from sixth place while the loser still remains as cliff hanger.
Other results: The Bowlersmate grabbed the second place after winning 2844-2652; Nusantara surprised the withered LEAF that caused its eviction from the elite group 2953-2627; the fearless Mangaf Strikers hit the top rank All Star Strikers playing with depleted lineup 2577-2410 and finally Thunder Dragons snapped the Tsamba Strikers 2844-2652. LEAF team stopped the winning streak of the Swooping Eagles (2781-2672) and remain holding the seventh position; Nusantara wrecked the dreams of Tsamba Strikers for another win (2854-2549) and finally the Asian Air Safari winning the game over Mangaf Strikers (2814-2551) still slid to sixth position.
