(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Losail Karting Experience was launched at Losail International Circuit with the participation of around 150 people on Monday evening.
The facility, which has been built within the circuit facility, gave the enthusiasts an opportunity to race karts over three and a half hours between 8pm and 11:30pm. While it was originally scheduled to be a two-day event, which would have concluded yesterday, the huge response from the people has led to a one-day extension and the event will run the same hours today also.
Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) provided the participants with karts, all the safety gear and lap timings for their 10-minute driving sessions around the track.
Not only could people ride karts, there was also the opportunity to ride quads.
"I am very happy for the opening of Losail Karting Experience," said QMMF president Nasser Khalifa al-Attiyah. "It is great to see the big number of participants at the launch and also that everybody is having fun in a safe and friendly atmosphere.
Due to the big success of the opening day, we will extend the karting days until Wednesday, June 24. Also we are going to have three more days of karting next week between June 30 and July 2. I would like to thank all the participants and families that came to the event and hope that more people will come to enjoy the Losail Karting Experience."
