Qatar- Msheireb awards TFM deal to SLPGM

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Msheireb Properties, a subsidiary of Qatar Foundation, has awarded SNC-Lavalin ProFac Gulf Management (SLPGM), a joint venture comprising SNC-Lavalin and Nasser Bin Khaled Al-Thani & Sons Holding Company (NBK), to provide Total Facilities Management (TFM) services to the prestigious Msheireb Downtown Doha (MDD) project.

The contract will see SLPGM, one of the leading facilities management providers in Qatar, deliver TFM services including technical, property, and infrastructure services that will encompass operations and maintenance, housekeeping and cleaning, pest control, landscaping and gardening, and energy management across three phases of the MDD Project.

A workforce of 1,000 will be responsible for the day-to-day management across the common areas and base buildings of the sustainable, urban-regeneration project that will be home to the world's highest concentration of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified buildings.

Msheireb Properties CEO Abdulla Hassan al€Mehshadi said, "We are delighted to announce that after a competitive process, SLPGM has been awarded the contract by Msheireb Properties, which will involve the delivery of a full range of services across the entire Msheireb Downtown Doha development - one of the largest outsourced facilities management contracts in the region spanning an entire downtown area."

Al-Mehshadi added, "During the selection process, emphasis was not only placed on the extremely high standards expected by Msheireb Properties for service delivery and performance, but also the meeting of stringent environmental sustainability standards set by LEED. Another major requirement was the welfare of our contractors as set out in Qatar Foundation's Mandatory Standards for Workers, Contractors and Sub-contractors. We believe SLPGM has the necessary experience to deliver a contract that meets these exceptional standards and we look forward to working with them."

Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser al-Thani, chairman and chief executive officer of NBK Holding, said, "Through our partnership with SNC-Lavalin and with our strong presence in Qatar, we are offering Msheireb Properties NBK's proven expertise as a substantial property owner and developer. Our capabilities are further enhanced by SNC-Lavalin's expertise as one of the leading suppliers of facilities management services."

"We are proud to play a key role in this sustainable landmark regeneration project that is central to the continued development of Qatar and that will preserve the historical downtown of Doha," said Ian L Edwards, executive vice-president for infrastructure sector, SNC-Lavalin Group.

SLPGM currently has more than 200 employees in Qatar, with extensive operations in Al Rayyan Village, Porto Arabia, and Al Waab City. With this new contract, that number is expected to rise to more than 400.
