South Korea identifies three new MERS cases


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) South Korea reported three new cases of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) on Tuesday, but no new deaths, a media report said, according to dpa.

The total number of MERS cases in South Korea now stands at 175, with
27 people having died from the viral respiratory illness, according
to Yonhap News Agency, citing the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Two of the new patients were already in isolation, suspected of
having been exposed to the virus. The third was possibly infected
through an ambulance driver or paramedic, the report said.

As of Tuesday, there were 2,805 people in isolation for possible
infection, Yonhap reported.
