Oman- Plant repairs to hurt output of Construction Materials

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Construction Materials Industries & Contracting said production at its Sohar factory would be impacted by maintenance work which is expected to be completed in the first half of next month.

The company said it is temporarily stopping the main kiln with a capacity of 200 tonnes at the Sohar Industrial Estate for periodic oven maintenance which is carried out every

five years to ensure product quality.

'Production is expected to drop during the maintenance period by 7150 tonnes with sales expected to decrease by RO264550.'

The second oven of 100 tonnes capacity will continue to produce hydrated lime' Construction Materials Industries said in a filing with the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) on Monday.

The company added it will do its best to make up for the production and sales loss during the third quarter of this year by raising output and reducing expenses by changing the unit flow gas control which will be replaced with a new system to reduce the amount of gas used in the operations.
