(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) A team of 15 bikers from Oman is just back from a three-week trip across Europe. It was not just a thrill seeking ride.
It had a purpose – to promote safe driving and also showcase Oman to people of the countries they visited. The men who undertook the campaign are members of Muscat Bikers a club for bike enthusiasts.
It's not that its members haven't been on riding expeditions to other countries before. Only this time at 15 the team strength was maximum.
'This was our third trip across the world. But this was the biggest team that rode across a continent. We also covered more countries (ten) from last time' said Taher Mohammad Abdul Karim al Zadjali the team leader.
The team undertook the expedition on an invite from the Lithuania Bikers Association in partnership with the Federation of European Motorcyclists' Associations. There will be another trip after Eid to Salalah by 38 bikers. 'We will start the trip two weeks after Eid and our aim will be to promote safe driving.'
Honda Oman also signed an agreement with the club pledging support. Freddie C L national manager motorcycles at Omasco said 'Muscat Bikers is doing an excellent job for society and we shall support and sponsor them for the next one year. We shall offer special rate and services for parts and tyres among others.'
