UAE: 8 accidents, no casualty on first 3 days of Ramadan
(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Despite eight accidents, no lives were lost on roads during the first three days of the holy month of Ramadan, according to the General Department of Traffic at Traffic Police.
Colonel Saif Mohair Al Mazroui, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said seven people sustained injuries in three minor accidents that took place at Bur Dubai area. Another three accidents were reported from Al Muraqabat, Al Rashidiya and Al Qusais respectively.
Colonel Al Mazroui said the minor incidents and crashes of vehicles on the roads has caused great congestion because of the curiosity of some motorists who stop their vehicles to see the accident scene.
He pointed out that police patrols were instructed to move quickly to accident sites, and urged the public not to leave their car in the middle of the road.
The drivers can use smart traffic application to report accidents after parking their cars without obstructing the traffic. He said that a collision involving four cars that happened Sunday on Shaikh Zayed Road blocked the exit to Abu Dhabi, and initial investigations showed that the motorists did not maintain safe distance between the vehicles.
