Sharjah Police bust illegal perfume factory, 3 arrested


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Sharjah Police on Monday arrested three Bangladeshis who were running illegal perfume factory to sell fake products carrying brand names.

A top official at the Crime Investigation Department (CID) said that the gang members were arrested while operating the illegal business at a farm in Al Madam area. Police raided the farm and caught the suspects red-handed and confiscated all the bottles and machine they use in running the illegal business.

Sharjah Police received information from Al Madam Municipality about the illegal activities, which immediately formed a team of CID officers to confirm the information.

In coordination with Al Madam Municipality, police then raided the farm and arrested the Bangladeshi suspects M.H.A, N.L.A, and M.Z.I.

The police also confiscated the barrels, empty bottles; stickers carrying the names of all brands names perfumes and two machines used in the operation.

During interrogation, they confessed that they bring the empty bottles of brand perfumes and put stickers in it and sell it to traders in other emirates.

Colonel Haran Al Kutabbi, Deputy-Director of Central region police station urged the public and traders not deal with these illegal activities, as it pose health hazard.

He urged the farms owners not to hire their farms to those who practise illegal activities and before renting it ensure that they are not using it for illegal purposes.
