Australia's int'l education income hits USD13.6b in 2014


(MENAFN) Data by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) showed that Australia's international education services sector earned export income of USD13.6 billion in 2014, Xinhua reported.

The figure represented an increase of 14 percent on calendar year 2013 and an increase of seven percent from the last reported earnings in the financial year 2013-2014.

The Australian Minister for Education and Training said that the figures reached a new record high and surpassed the previous peak of USD12.9 billion registered in calendar year 2009.

Roughly USD465.9 million of the USD13.6 billion figure were generated from a range of international education services delivered by Australian providers offshore.
