Eight civilians killed in Syrian regime's bombardment in Aleppo

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Eight civilians were killed, including children, when Syrian regime gunship helicopters dropped sea mines on Al-Qasliya neighborhood in center of the northern city of Aleppo on Sunday, opposition Syria Mubasher news service said.

The shelling destroyed residential areas and the eight bodies, who belong to two families, were recovered from under the rubble, Syria Mubasher quoted civil defense team sources as saying.

The regime helicopters also dropped a sea mine on Kallasa neighborhood in Aleppo killing one woman and wounding others, it said, as well as damaging apartment buildings.

The Syrian regime is intensifying its bombardment by the sea mines on
areas out of its control in Aleppo, Idlib, Hama and outside Latakia. A
helicopter can carry 20 sea mines instead of only four barrel bombs, thus causing more casualties.

Syria Mubasher said scores of regime forces and national defense army militias were either killed or injured during clashes with rebels in Quneitera, southern Syria.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 10 civilians were killed, including four children, when the Syrian fighter jets bombarded the city of Tadmur, eastern Homs.
