(MENAFN- QNA) The Arab League General Secretariat has confirmed support for the State of Qatar hosting of the 2022 World Cup as the first Arab country to organize such a global event, describing it as an important sports event.
In a statement issued today the Arab League General Secretariat expressed support for the position adopted by each of the Ministerial Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) and the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) denouncing the tendentious campaign attempting to undermine the eligibility of the State of Qatar and the questioning of its right to organize the World Cup in 2022.
