204,591 Omanis employed in the private sector


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The total number of insured Omanis working in the private sector till the end of May has reached 204591 an increase of 0.5 per cent compared to April.

According to the National Centre for Information and Statistics (NCSI) the private sector had 157465 Omani men and 47126 women.

There has been a 1.1 per cent decrease in the number of Omanis in the RO325-RO400 salary bracket in May compared to the previous month. This bracket has the highest number of Omanis - 63069 (42859 men and 20210 women).

Omanis in Pvt Sector

Similarly the RO400 to RO500 salary category shrunk 0.1 per cent to have 46295 citizens (40577 men and 5718 women).

There were  20546 citizens (16897 men and 3649 women) earning salaries between RO500 and RO600. This number registered a 0.8 per cent increase.

The same increase was registered in the number of Omanis earning RO600 to RO700. The number stood at 13500  (10891 men and 2609 women).

There were 8858 Omanis in the private sector earning RO700 to RO800. This category saw an increase of 0.7 per cent and included 6997 men and 1861 women.

There were 6448 Omanis in the RO800 to RO900 pay bracket. This category saw an increase of 1.6 per cent and included 4870 men and 1578 women.

Those who receive salaries exceeding RO900 to RO1000 increased by 0.7 per cent to reach 4837 (3633 men and 1204 women).

The percentage of Omanis earning in the RO1000 to RO2000 range increased 1.1 per cent as their number reached 17951 (14352 men and 3599 women).

There was a 1.1 per cent fall in the number of citizens earning RO2000 and above. This category had 6924 Omanis.

Muscat governorate had the highest concentration of Omani private sector workers at 71685 followed by North Batinah with 37821 citizens Dakhliyah with 23579 and South  Batinah with 19587 citizens.

There were 12176 citizens employed in the private sector in Dhofar 12091 in North Sharqiyah  12016 in South Sharqiyah 9016 in Dhahirah  3378 in Buraimi 1118 in Al Wusta and 1079 in Musandam.
