Saudi equity market cap decreases to USD557.07b


(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia's total market capitalization decreased to USD557.07 billion, pulled down by some major losses recorded in the insurance sector which declined by 2.81 percent, Arab News reported.

In addition, the transport sector came second with a fall back of about 2.08 percent. Nonetheless, the energy sector increased by a slight 1 percent and the petrochemical sector amounted for 24 percent of the total market turnover.

The sector volume increased significantly by 41 percent to 122.8 million shares, while the banking sector is accounted for 28 percent of the total market liquidity.
