US drone strike kills 4 rebels in E. Afghanistan

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) At least four Taliban rebels were killed in a United States-led drone strike in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province, said police on Saturday.

Provincial police spokesman, Lt. Col. Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal told media that the missile strike took place in Haska Mina district of Nangarhar, killing at least four militants.

The unmanned aircraft targeted militants who were on foot in Kamar Kandaw locality of the district. He said all the slain militants were foreigners, but he could not confirm their nationality.

The number of drone strikes in the country has been increased following the annual warm weather offensive launched by Taliban rebels across Afghanistan since April.
