South Korea's MERS Death Toll Rises to 25


(MENAFN- QNA) South Korea has reported one more death from Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), bringing the country's death toll to 25.

A 63-year-old man - who has had a history of heart disease and diabetes - died in a hospital in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, where he had been quarantined after being infected with the MERS virus, South Korean Yonhap news agency reported the Ministry of Health and Welfare as saying, adding that his death reduced the number of people diagnosed with the potentially deadly disease to 165.

On Friday, the number of MERS patient had increased only by one, prompting a careful outlook of the end of the outbreak from ministry officials.
