(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Bulbul in Messaieed, by Ali Abrar, is the winner of Gulf Times Instagram Contest V.
The picture of the bird, perched on a wall, scored 66 likes and 15 comments from Instagram followers, easily beating 11 other photos selected for the contest.
Abrar, a 47-year-old Pakistani engineer, works for Qatar Fertilizer Company.
A Doha resident for the last one and a half years, Abrar finds photography a "way of expression".
"For me photography is about appreciating the world around us and a means of preserving the way you look at it," he says.
Abrar, who developed interest in photography only recently, is happy to achieve success in a short time.
