Qatar- Kahramaa holds workshop on district cooling services

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The district cooling services department of Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) along with International District Cooling regulatory framework consultant Strategy&, FVB Energy and Latham & Watkins, organised a workshop for district cooling (DC) stakeholders.

The workshop was primarily focused on tariff and pricing regulation and developing a new regulatory framework for the district cooling market in Qatar.

It also discussed prevalent tariff structures in Qatar, the proposed tariff structure, payment schemes, price control mechanism and presenting the minimum contractual terms and conditions.

The Kahramaa's district cooling services department primarily covers objectives of protecting consumers, ensuring full reliance on non-potable water for cooling and having energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

District cooling relies on large-scale centralised cooling that provides a wide spectrum of savings in energy and consumption and infrastructure and consequently reduces the impact on the environment and helps improving sustainability.
