Doha Festival City, The Youth Co in volunteering initiative

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha Festival City has announced a collaboration with The Youth Company to launch this year's edition of the Ramadan volunteer work initiative, "Hasanat Olympics". The intiative reflects an ongoing commitment to community services by Doha Festival City by trying to make a positive impact on society. The programme will provide a month-long platform of civic engagement, volunteer activities, and awareness campaigns for youth in Qatar, focused on charity, humanity and culture, through the delivery of good deeds during the holy month of Ramadan.

After a very successful initiative last year, Hasanat Olympics programme has a daily schedule of activities and volunteer work that includes charity drives, hospital and elderly home visits, and mosque clean-ups this Ramadan.

"We are pleased to collaborate with The Youth Company to organise this meaningful initiative that seeks to empower Qatar's youth and foster the concepts of social responsibility and solidarity as a way of living," said Kareem Shamma, CEO of Basrec WLL - owner and developer of Doha Festival City. "We believe that spreading the culture of volunteering and nurturing the values of giving among our youth during the holy month of Ramadan will both contribute to their spiritual fulfillment and help them develop active citizenship and confidence. It will support their personal growth and help them be better equipped to achieve their own aspirations".

Bringing together a diverse range of people from all backgrounds and walks of life, volunteer work becomes a rich source of inspiration that enhances interpersonal skills and builds young people's sense of ability and empowerment, he said.

Mohamed Farid, Founder of The Youth Company, said, "The importance of The Youth Company's Ramadan programme is to foster volunteering and community engagement towards achieving Qatar National Vision 2030. Volunteering does not only have a positive impact on the lives of our youth, but it also contributes to the welfare of the community at large, and the most important addition to this year's programme is the close collaboration with a strong and engaged partner such as Doha Festival City".
