Qatar- Hope Campaign supports children with cancer

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Health Professions Awareness and Volunteering Program at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) participated in the 'Hope Campaign' organised by students at Qatar University's (QU) International Relations Department. The campaign aims to show support for children with cancer currently undergoing treatment

at HMC.

A ceremony was held recently at Bayt Al Diyafah in HMC's Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City to highlight the campaign that supports the social integration of children with cancer into society and the proceeds of which will be used to support kids with cancer.

Speaking about HMC's participation in the campaign, Balqees Al Khazraji, Director of HMC's Health Professions Awareness and Volunteering Program, said: "The programmes and activities of the 'Hope Campaign' extend psychological support to children with cancer with the aim to boost their morale."

Amina Fakhroo, one of the campaign organisers from QU, said the campaign is a charitable endeavour designed by QU's International Relations Department to extend support to children with cancer and boost public awareness of this group of patients and their families, who are under immense pressure throughout the course of treatment.

Many other local organisations have also shown support to this charitable project and demonstrated a high level of social responsibility and solidarity with young cancer patients, she said.

Highlights of the campaign ceremony included activities such as drawing and painting, face colouring, a music show, henna design, handicrafts and instant photography. Participants also enjoyed meals and snacks.

Children from the Little Volunteer team from Qatar Volunteer Center added joy and cheer to the atmosphere at

the event.
