Qatar- AZF honours journalists


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Based on its belief in the importance of the role of media in society, and as a partner in achieving its purpose of promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, Aspire Zone Foundation honoured a number of journalists who have shed light on the achievements of Qatari sports, covered Aspire Zone events during the year, especially local, regional and international tournaments organised by AZF, and highlighted the achievements of its members Aspire Academy, Aspetar and Aspire Logistics.

Speaking on the occasion, Nasser Abdullah Al Hajri, AZF Marketing Director, said: "We, in Aspire Zone Foundation, genuinely believe that without the role and support of the media, and their efforts throughout the year to cover our activities and to communicate our primary message to different society segments promoting an active, healthy lifestyle, we would not have achieved any success."

Al Hajri added: "I congratulate the honoree journalists and wish them and the Qatari press further progress, continuing their vital role in the advancement of our society in all areas in line with Qatar National Vision 2030."

Certificates of appreciation were given in the outstanding press coverage category to Farid Abdul Baki and Hossam Nabawi from Al Raya newspaper, Salah Al Haj from Al Sharq, Alaa Al Din Kureia from Al Arab, Yousef Mohammed from Al Watan newspaper, Joseph Vargheese from the Gulf Times, and Victor Ikoli from Qatar Tribune.

In the press photography category, Fadi Al Assaad and Mohammed Dabbous from Estad Al Doha, Mohammed Mamdouh from Al Raya, and Mohnan from DohaStadiumPlus got awards.

In the category of news agencies, Nizar Al Sammani from Qatar News Agency, and Eman Kamel from Reuters were honoured.

The honorees thanked AZF officials for their kind gesture and appreciated the efforts of the AZF working team that organises events to enrich social and sporting life in Qatar and the entire region, wishing them more success.
