14 Iraqis Killed in Iraqi Air Attack

(MENAFN- QNA) 14 people were killed or injured in an erroneous shelling by an Iraqi helicopter gunship in the district of Baiji, in northern Iraq.

Police sources in Salahuddin Province said in a statement that a helicopter gunship erroneously shelled citizens' houses in the Daesh-controlled Al-Mashak village killing two men and four children and injuring eight people including women.

The source added that the same helicopter gunship was attacking Daesh positions but missed its targets, explaining that most of the citizens had left after Daesh maintained control over the area.

Meanwhile, four children have died in displaced persons camps in southern Tikrit, central Iraq due to extreme heat.

An informed Iraqi source said the children died in Al-Hardaniyah camp, north of Al-Duluiya due to extreme heat and lack of conditions necessary for an adequate standard of living.
