Palestinian President Meets South African Envoy to Middle East


(MENAFN- QNA) Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met here today with visiting South African Middle East Envoy former Minister Zola Skweyiya and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the Palestinian President briefed the South African Envoy on the latest developments in the Palestinian territories and the Middle East peace process which was brought to an impasse due to the Israeli government's intransigence.

President Abbas stressed the Palestinian side commitment to the attainment of peace on the basis of the international legality resolutions and in accordance with the two-state solution to establish a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital within the borders of 1967.

The Palestinian President meanwhile praised South Africa's support for the Palestinian people and their just cause, stressing the Palestinian leadership's keenness on enhancing bilateral relations to achieve the interests of both sides.
