Kuwaiti charity serves Ramadan meals to Muslims in 100 countries

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The regular project to offer Iftar (fast-breaking) meals to Muslims will be carried out in more than 100 countries during the holy month of Ramadan via a number of offices, in collaboration with 250 charities, the International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO) said.

In a press statement on Thursday, IICO Director General Salem Hamada said the organization would provide the meals to disaster or unrest-hit areas and countries like Syria.

The meals also will be given to the countries hosting Syrian refugees, mainly Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey, and the Gaza Strip, Yemeni refugee camps in Djibouti and Somalia, as well as Palestinians in diaspora, he added.

He noted that the IICO receives donations from benefactors through its offices across the country, urging them to increase their support for this huge project to alleviate suffering of people.

He said the project is part of the organization's campaign to provide meals for Muslims in Ramadan, underlining the importance of providing Iftar meals to meet the growing needs of Muslims in Ramadan.
