Finland's Stubb not hopeful of Greek deal

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Finance Minister of Finland Alexander Stubb Thursday said the ball is in the court of the Greek side to reach a deal with its international creditors to unlock the outstanding bailout of 7.2 billion euro.

"If there is a will there is a way. There is always hope. To be honest, I am not very hopeful," he told reporters as he arrived for a meeting of the finance ministers of the 19-member eurozone in Luxembourg who are to discuss the Greek crisis later today.

The Finnish minister noted that there are two options.

"We get a deal and an extension of the programme which is based on conditionality. And the other is of course some form of default but that is a problem more for Greece and the Greek people than it would be for the rest of the eurozone. I don't believe in a domino effect on this stage," he said.

Stubb added that Euro as a currency "is reversible as any other currency."
