UK retail sales growth increases 0.2 percent in May

(MENAFN) The United Kingdom's retail sector witnessed an increase by 0.2 percent in sales in May, marking a slowdown from an increase of about 0.9 percent in April, The BBC reported.

The slight downward comes as fewer clothes were bought by shoppers in the same month. According to the Office for National Statistics, clothing sales were 1.6 percent down on April's level.

However, analysts forecast that retail sales are to remain level in May, following a boost in sales by an unusually warm weather.
