UK's Poundland records USD1.75b in sales


(MENAFN) Poundland, the United Kingdom's discount retailer, recorded USD1.56 billion annual sales, an event that enabled the company from surpassing the USD1.56 billion barrier, The Telegraph reported.

The increase is attributed to the fact that shoppers started to avoid visiting major supermarket for cheaper alternatives. Furthermore, Poundland revenue also picked up by about 11.9 percent.

Pre-tax profits witnessed a significant increase by 68.3 percent, reaching a total of USD56.8 million. In addition, the all-important barometer of growth increase by 2.4 percent.
