UN Warns of Deteriorating Situation of Yemen's Children
(MENAFN- QNA) Julien Harneis, UNICEF's representative in Yemen described situation of Yemen's children as a tragic, urging Yemeni and international parties to reach a humanitarian truce to enable the United Nations to provide assistance across the country.
In statements released today, Harneis called for a one -month truce to enable UNICEF to organize a nationwide immunization campaign which could take at least two weeks.
He explained that UNICEF calls on all parties to carry out a humanitarian truce in accordance to the U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon's call.
While stressing that UNICEF will continue to provide assistance across Yemen even in the event of failure to reach a humanitarian truce agreement.
