Brazil stocks higher at close of trade Bovespa up 1.06%


(MENAFN- FxPro) Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumption and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.06%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3), which rose 5.88% or 0.25 points to trade at 4.50 at the close. Meanwhile, JBS SA (SA:JBSS3) added 4.35% or 0.69 points to end at 16.57 and Itau Unibanco Holding SA (SA:ITUB4) was up 3.54% or 1.18 points to 34.55 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3), which fell 3.65% or 0.22 points to trade at 5.80 at the close. Gerdau SA (SA:GGBR4) declined 3.08% or 0.26 points to end at 8.18 and Marcopolo SA (SA:POMO4) was down 3.05% or 0.08 points to 2.54.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 160 to 142 and 4 ended unchanged.

Shares in Itau Unibanco Holding SA (SA:ITUB4) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.54% or 1.18 to 34.55.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.16% to 31.32.

Gold for August delivery was down 0.33% or 3.90 to $1182.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $60.67 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.82% or 1.05 to trade at $128.62 .

USD/BRL was down 1.20% to 3.0892, while EUR/BRL fell 1.49% to 3.4753.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 95.22.
