Oman- Fire at Ghubra filling station


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) A spark from a mini bus led to a fire at a Ghubra filling station on Tuesday afternoon. Passengers of the bus which included children were moved to safety before flames engulfed the vehicle. Two station attendants received serious to minor burn injuries and were admitted to Khoula Hospital.

Eyewitnesses said that the bus was stationed for refilling at around 12.30pm when a spark from the vehicle spread to two fuel dispensers.

Part of the filling station's roof was also damaged. 

A team from the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulances brought the blaze under control in around 45 minutes.

The injured have been identified as Abul Rahman and Shaffi Kasaragod both Indian expatriates. Rahman suffered serious injuries to his face and body while Kasaragod escaped with minor injuries.

The fuel station's management is assessing the damage from the fire. CCTV footage is also being studied officials said.
