Palestinian President Sets Conditions to Resume Peace Talks

(MENAFN- QNA) Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas set conditions to accept France's initiative to resume peace talks with Israel, includes the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital and a specific date for negotiations and implementation.

"We will not accept a Jewish state, in principle, if this has been mentioned we would not accepted it," the president said.

Abbas made the remarks at the 15th regular session of the ruling Fatah movement's revolutionary council.

The Palestinian President described negotiating position or political situation as frozen and stalled, saying there were vigorous American efforts but did not reach a conclusion and now it stalled.

There are no endeavors for the political process and this is extremely a dangerous stalemate that would lead to political complications a matter which we don't accept because the results would be devastating, the president said.
