Two streets on Maryah and Reem Islands named after prominent Emiratis


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the Abu Dhabi Municipality today named two streets on Al Maryah Island and Al Reem Island after two Emirati personalities who made notable contributions to their country in their lifetime.

The two main streets of Al Reem and Al Maryah Islands were named after the late Abdullah Omran Taryam and the late Hamouda bin Ali Al Dhaheri, respectively.

Saeed Eid Al Ghafli, Chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA), thanked Sheikh Khalifa and Sheikh Mohamed for their continuous support to the development drive in Abu Dhabi.

"Naming our streets after prominent personalities shows our leadership is keen on recognising those who contributed to the development of the UAE," he said.
