S. Korean FM to Visit Japan

(MENAFN- QNA) South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung Se will visit Japan from Sunday for talks with his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida, a source close to Japan-South Korea relations said Wednesday.

The source said that the visit by Yun, who will also pay a courtesy call to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Monday, comes as the Asian neighbors mark the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations amid strained ties due to a territorial row and differing perceptions of history, according to Japan's (Kyodo) News Agency.

It will be the first trip to Japan by a South Korean foreign minister since 2011. Yun and Kishida last held talks in Seoul in March.
