(MENAFN- Arab Times) Kuwait Tuesday announced that Thursday would be the first day of Muslims' Holy Month of Ramadan. Justice Yusuf Al-Mutaw'a, Head of the Constitutional Court and Deputy Chairman of the Court of Cassation, said in a statement the crescent sighting authority could not prove the sighting of crescent Tuesday evening. Therefore, he added, the first day of Ramadan would fall on Thursday.

His Highness the Amir, His highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Al-Sabah family will be receiving well-wishers on the first, second and third days of Ramadan between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. in Al-Sabah Diwan at Bayan Palace, a statement by the Amiri Diwan said on Tuesday.
The statement wished the best of health and prosperity of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al- Hamad Al-Sabah.
It also expressed best wishes for more growth, safety, development and prosperity of Arab and Muslim worlds. His Highness the Crown Prince sent a cable on Tuesday to His Highness the Amir congratulating him on the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan. His Highness Crown Prince sent similar cables to Chief of the National Guard Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah and to Sheikh Mubarak Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. His Highness the Crown Prince received cables of thanks from the recipients of his congratulatory cables.
