Qatar Panel Attends 30th GCC Municipal Meeting in Riyadh


(MENAFN- QNA) Senior officials from the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning represented Qatar at the 30th Meeting of GCC municipalities held at the headquarters of GCC General Secretariat in Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh.

Doha Municipality Director Engineer Mohamed Ahmed Al-Sayyed led Qatar's panel comprising Public Affairs Director Hamad Ali Al Kaabi, Communications Officer Sultan Khamis, members Misbah Shiban Al Kuwari and Abdullah Hamad Al Baker.

The officials discussed reports of specialised technical teams, the GCC Award for Municipal Work, beautification of cities, the unified GCC building code and the preparation of a unified GCC Strategy for municipalities, he said.

The officials also talked about development centres and municipal training departments. They approved the reorganization of special municipal work groups and setting up workshops.

Qatar will host the 19th meeting of GCC municipal ministers on October 22. This meeting will be preceded by the 31st meeting of senior municipal officials on October 20 and 21.

The 25th meeting to GCC municipalities communications officers will be held on October 19. The second meeting of the committee for the GCC Award for Municipal Work will be held on October 18.
