Iraqi PM: 40 suicide bombers enter Iraq every month


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Forty suicide bombers enter Iraq every month, Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi said Monday during a conference in Baghdad.

Abadi also called on the international community to help prevent fighters entering Iraq during his speech.

The conference discussed protecting children from being recruited by Daesh.

Government officials, MPs, as well as UN organizations' representatives including UNICEF, were present.

- Deadly explosions pound Baghdad

Bomb attacks killed five people, including police officers, in Baghdad on Sunday, according to security sources.

Two police officers were killed and four others were injured in the attack, which targeted Iraqi security forces in eastern Baghdad.

In a separate incident, three bombs exploded in Ar-Rashid district to the south of the capital and Abu Gurayb district to its west, killing three people and wounding 10 others.
