UAE keen on strengthening cooperation with Bahrain, says envoy


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The UAE Ambassador to Bahrain, Abdul Reda Abdullah Al Khouri, has said that the UAE's contribution of US$250 million to build 5,000 housing units in Bahrain to meet the country's growing demand for quality housing was a reflection of its keenness to strengthen fraternal ties with Bahrain.

In remarks made following the ground-breaking ceremony of Bahrain's East Sitra housing development project in Manama today, Al Khouri said the UAE's contribution to this project comes as part of a US$2.5 billion grant to Bahrain within the Gulf Cooperation Council's development programme for Bahrain.

He praised the directives of the leadership of the UAE and Bahrain which places the progress and prosperity of their respective citizens as a top priority.
