Eurozone's trade surplus hits US28.1b in April


(MENAFN) The statistical office of the European Union (EU) Eurostat said the eurozone registered a USD28.01 billion surplus in trade in goods with the rest of the world in April of 2015, Xinhua reported.

The April figure compares to USD16.73 billion recorded in April of 2014. Meanwhile, estimated exports and imports increased 9 percent and 3 percent, respectively, in the eurozone in April.

However, the 28-nation EU was estimated to have trade surplus of USD13.7 billion in April of this year, marking an increase from a surplus of USD8.98 million in April of 2014.

In the January-April period, the eurozone recorded a surplus of USD86.6 billion, compared with USD51.1 billion in the same period of 2014, while the EU registered a surplus of USD16.96 billion.
