Kuwaiti oil barrel drops 97 cents, reaches USD 58.98


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The price of Kuwaiti oil barrel dropped 97 cents reaching USD 58.98 per barrel on Monday, compared to USD 59.95 pb last Friday, said Kuwait Petroleum Corporation on Tuesday.

As for the international oil markets, the prices of future crude oil contracts had dropped amidst fears on a change in demands on energy, Greece's debts crisis, the rise of the US dollar and the UN talks on Yemen which could restore peace and stability in the country.

Meanwhile, the prices of Brent crude oil contracts for July delivery dropped USD 1.26 (1.97 percent), reaching USD 62.61 pb upon settlement.

Moreover, the prices of US crude oil contracts (West Texas intermediate) for July delivery had dropped by 44 cents (0.73 percent), reaching USD 59.52 pb upon settlement.
