Oman- Bank Muscat launches video section on its website


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Bank Muscat on Monday launched a new video section on its website featuring interviews of SME leaders from both private and public sectors.

The event was held in the presence of Said bin Saleh al Kiyumi chairman Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry Khalifa al Abry CEO Riyada and  AbdulRazak Ali Issa CEO Bank Muscat.

The section titled 'al Wathbah smetv' is part of Bank Muscat's 'Wathbah' programme which focuses on non-financial  support to SMEs such as organising workshops and networking events. The section will act as a platform for those involved in the SME sector to gain insight and share information on the latest challenges and advancements.

'Bank Muscat wants to play a role in combining all the initiatives [related to SMEs] under one umbrella. 'By visiting this section one can know about the whole country's SME initiatives' said Ilham al Hamaid assistant general manager SME credit and marketing Bank Muscat. The launch on Monday saw uploading of five videos.

According to Ilham one or two videos will be uploaded every month. The videos are in Arabic but have English subtitles. She said the idea about the digital channel came about a year ago from a Turkish bank TEB.

'We feel that this sector [SME] requires a lot of non-financial support.' The Wathbah programme was started in 2005 and complements the bank's other financial support to SMEs. 'We want to ensure sustainability one and secondly we want to ensure the support to the economy of the country' she said.
