Oman- PDO honours more than 500 pensioners


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) held events in Muscat Fahud and Marmul to honour more than 500 pensioners on Monday according to a press release.

Raoul Restucci managing director PDO and Abdul Amir al Ajmi its external affairs director reported progress on key objectives including the creation of more than 7000 jobs for Omanis this year the drive to raise the oil production plateau to 600000 barrels per day by 2019 and intensified business efficiency efforts.

'The annual pensioner parties provide an excellent platform for us to interact with our pensioners who have done so much to build PDO into the thriving business it is today. 'Even though they no longer work with us our pensioners are still proud to be associated with PDO and have a wealth of experience and wisdom which can assist us as we move forward. 'We take our responsibility for them very seriously and provide help where we can to ensure they continue to lead happy and healthy lives' Restucci was quoted in the release as saying.

Among the benefits available to retirees is a scheme that provides no-cost interest-free loans and greater access to primary healthcare. From October this will be provided at a new Medical Centre at Mina al Fahl which will have an accident and emergency department two outpatient clinics laboratory pharmacy physiotherapy occupational health and safety department.

The company is also looking at enhancing medical support in the Block 6 concession area by supporting and better leveraging key Ministry of Health PDO and Contractor clinics. PDO is also planning to establish a new network for pensioners so that they can share their views and stay in touch with friends and colleagues frequently the release added.
