(MENAFN) Qatar Airways announced a purchase deal of USD4.8 billion, ordering 10 Boeing 777-8X jetliners and four 777 freighters at Paris Airshow, an official statement said, Reuters reported.
The transactions were announced at Paris Airshow by the airline's Chief Executive, who, with this move, sent some explicit messages to the U.S. carrier Delta Airlines, which has been accusing Qatar Airways of receiving huge subsidies.
"I hope that the gentleman at Delta knows that we are creating even more jobs in the United States by ordering more airplanes," the Chief Executive said, after denying the accusations.
