Qatar- Consumers urged to shop during day to avoid Ramadan rush

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Shop during the day to buy essential Ramadan-related commodities to avoid long queues, vehicular traffic, and other hassles consumers usually encounter in major stores and groceries, a manager of a leading hypermarket has suggested.

LuLu Hypermarket deputy general manager Malik Mohamed said the influx of consumers has always been a challenge for them, especially when they come in droves in the evening.

"The increase in footfall due to Ramadan-related preparations is always a challenge for us. Regardless of the situation, we cannot let customers down, especially when the huge turnout of shoppers becomes a hassle to some," Mohamed told Gulf Times.

He added, "We do understand that some people don't have flexible schedules but avoiding the evening rush is the most practical way to avoid the hassles of last-minute shopping. It would be best to schedule trips to the store and keep a list of the essential items when buying."

According to Family Food Centre Group's HR and admininstration manager Habeeb Mohammedunny, the last few days leading to the start of Ramadan is the busiest time of the year.

"These last three days is the peak time in the year for us, especially for
hypermarkets like us that are concentrating mainly on food items. Hence,
our purchases will be more and we will try to bring most of the brands
sought after by our customers out in the shelves," Mohammedunny said.

Mohammedunny also stressed that shopping during daytime provides customers more time to buy essential items needed during the holy month.
