UAE- 65 year old killed in RAK road accident


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Director of the RAK Traffic and Patrols department said the victim identified as A.R.H. lost control over the steering wheel and the car turned several times before coming to a halt.

Ras Al Khaimah – A 65-year-old Emirati man was killed on Friday afternoon on the Bariyat – Beih Valley road in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.

Col Ali Saeed Al Alkeem director of the RAK Traffic and Patrols department said the victim identified as A.R.H. lost control over the steering wheel and the car turned several times before coming to a halt.

“On being alerted about the accident the Central Operations Room of the RAK Police dispatched paramedics rescue teams and police patrols to the site but the victim succumbed to the injuries while on the way to the hospital.”

“Investigations are on to identify the reasons behind the accident” he stated urging motorists to be attentive on the road and abide by traffic rules and regulations.

Col Alkeem said most of such accidents are due to poor overtaking or are a result of a sudden tyre burst particularly in hot weather.

“Motorists are urged to check the condition of their tyres on a regular basis to avoid any such accidents particularly during long distances.”

Meanwhile the Traffic and Patrols Department launched a new traffic campaign to enlighten motorists about the adverse effects of poor lane.

Brigadier Ghanim Ahmed Ghanim Director-General of the Central Operations Room RAK Police said 2000 brochures shall be distributed during the one-month drive.
