European stocks sink on Greek default fears


(MENAFN- AFP) European stocks sank on Monday on concerns that Greece could be nearing default, with Athens main index dropping 4.68 percent to close at 738.25 points.

London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of top companies ended the day down 1.10 percent at 6,710.52 points.

In Paris the CAC 40 dropped 1.75 percent to close at 4,815.36 points, and Frankfurt's DAX 30 fell 1.89 percent to 10,984.97 points, sinking below the 11,000 mark for the first time since late February.
