Kuwait wins two gold medals, qualifies for Muay Thai finals


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwaiti Muay Thai team won two gold medals and qualified to the finals of the Arab Muay Thai (Thai boxing) Championship held in Jordan with the participation of 20 teams.

Players Masoud Abdulhakeem Masoud and Bader Marwan Hammad, both won two gold medals after beating their Iraqi competitors in the championship organized by Black Belt Jordanian Sports Center under the supervision of The Arab and Jordanian unions of the game.
Kuwait is represented by Kuwaiti Muay Thai team, affiliated to the Kuwait Olympic Committee, and chaired by Ali Al-Fudari, including coach Abduallah Al-Saa'e.

Al-Fudari said in remarks to KUNA that the team qualified the finals, and will encounter the Jordanian team this evening to fight for the first and second ranks in the Muay boran competitions.
Coach Al-Saa'e expressed his satisfaction over the team performance and the results the players achieved, stressing the importance of such participation to boost the skills of the amateur players.

The championship, which kicked off last Thursday and would last till today, witnessed the participation of delegations from Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine and Libya.

Players born in 2001, 2002, and 2003 played in the Muay boran competitions, while players born in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 played in the Muya Thai competitions.
