Kuwait- New edu. Ministry HQs, Jaber Hospital to be handed over in Nov., Dec. - official


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Ministry of Public Works Undersecretary Awatef Al-Ghoniem announced Sunday that the new headquarters of the Ministry of Education and Jaber Hospital complex would be handed over to the government in November and December 2015 respectively.

In statements to reporters following the inauguration of an exhibition of the Ministry's maintenance sector, Al-Ghoniem said that the event is meant to highlight the role played by the maintenance sector, especially in renovating and repairing roads, rain and sewage water networks, and government buildings.

For his part, the Assistant Undersecretary for Maintenance Sector Mohammad bin Nekhai said that this year, the sector has 48 maintenance contracts at a total value of KD 84.19 million (USD 278.49 million): 11 contracts worth KD 12.53 million (USD 41.4 million) for operation maintenance; 22 contracts worth KD 41.44 million (USD 137 million) for roads and rains and sewage water networks maintenance; and seven contracts at a total value of KD 7.32 million (USD 24.2 million) for repairing buildings.

In 2014, the sector has maintained 17.6 million square meters of roads' asphalt pavement, 947,000 square meters of tile floors, and cleaned up 2.4 million meters of rain pipeline networks and 128,000 meters of sewage water network, he pointed out.
