Egypt- Top Arab lawmaker stresses joint force resolution

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Arab Parliament President Ahmad Al-Jarwan underlined here on Saturday the significance of the recent Arab resolution on the formation of a joint Arab military force.

Al-Jarwan said in a statement that the Arab Parliament had been in the forefront of those bodies which called for creating this Arab military force in order to protect Arab gains.

During a recent Arab summit in Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt, Arab leaders had adopted a resolution creating a joint Arab military force in response to security challenges and risks the Arab world is facing.

The parliament is set to convene at the Cairo-based Arab League headquarters on Sunday.

It is expected to discuss the latest Arab developments, primarily Palestine, Yemen, Syria, Libya and Iraq, Al-Jarwan said.

The agenda also includes ways or wiping out obstacles impeding the implementation of Arab agreements purposed to push forward Arab integration, Al-Jarwan pointed out.
