Number of MERS patients in South Korea climbs to 145


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) The number of people infected in South Korea's outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) has risen to 145 after seven new cases were confirmed, dpa cited the
Health Ministry as saying Sunday.

So far 14 people have died of the dangerous respiratory illness,
which erupted in the country in May.

Most of the newly diagnosed patients contracted the virus at the
Samsung Medical Center in Seoul.
