Eurozone's industrial output up 0.1 percent in April
(MENAFN) Industrial production in April rose by 0.1 percent on a monthly basis in both the euro area and the wider European Union, according to estimates from Eurostat, Xinhua reported.
The increase is due to production of durable consumer goods rising by 1.0 percent, capital goods by 0.7 percent and intermediate goods by 0.3 percent, the data showed.
Among Member States for which data are available, the highest increases in industrial production were registered in Lithuania, Sweden and Portugal, and the largest decreases in Croatia, Malta, Greece and Poland.
In March, industrial production decreased by 0.4 percent and 0.1 percent respectively. On an annual basis, the April industrial production increased by 0.8 percent in the euro area and by 1.2 percent in the EU.
