Kuwait- MoI warns against covering up for criminals


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Security Media Department of the Ministry of Interior on Thursday warned that any individual who might cover up for a convicted criminal will be liable to imprisonment and fine.

Paragraph 1 of Article 132 of the Kuwaiti penal code makes a punishable crime any act of harboring, whether directly or indirectly, a person who is wanted for the police or given a guilty verdict or broke out of prison.

The law sets a maximum punishment of two years in jail and a fine of up to KD 2,000 for such a crime, according to a statement issued by the Dept. tonight.
